How to Decorate an Ocean Inspired Bathroom

Life can get busy and most people do not get to enjoy the summer like they really should. The next best thing, however, is to decorate your apartment with a summery vibe so you can at least feel like its summer once you get home. Here are a few quick tips.

Colors: most landlords do not let their tenants paint, so in order to get that pop of ocean-inspired color you will have to use your accent pieces and bathroom décor.

Use woods: put up a wood framed mirror or other wood accessories to make your bathroom get that ocean vibe.

Rope: rope is a huge part of being out on the ocean. Buy some nautical rope and use it as a décor piece on one of the walls in your bathroom. The white will contrast perfectly with the blues and green you’ll already have in the area.

Featured Events: Westminster’s Concerts in the Park

The summer months are a wonderful time to be outdoors with friends and loved ones enjoying the weather, and luckily for us, the annual Summer Concert Series begins. This Westminster tradition is highly anticipated by all of our residents who love great music and enjoy sharing it with others.

The Summer Concert Series takes place in the City’s Civic Center Sunken Gardens and includes an array of vendors selling soft drinks, burgers, and light snacks. Many residents opt to bring along a picnic basket to be enjoyed with their family and friends. The season kicks off in July and takes place every Thursday evening from 6 – 7:30 pm. Some highlights include The Silverados on August 4, a country rock band, and Abbey Road, a Beatles tribute band playing hits from the greatest pop group of the twentieth century. They will be appearing on August 18.

Summer should be spent being out and about; don’t spend the summer months cooped up indoors. Don’t miss out on the fun! Enjoy free music and socialize with your neighbors every Thursday after work at the Westminster Summer Concert Series.

Easy Spring Cleaning Hacks to Make Life Easier

Spring cleaning might be the most boring way to spend a weekend that anyone can image, but the truth is it needs to be done. Particularly if you are trying to get your deposit back at the end of your lease. Here are three spring cleaning hacks to help make the process easier.

Steam-clean: put a bowl of water and lemon juice in your microwave on high for three minutes and let the steam lessen all that gunk on the sides. Once the time is done all you have to do is wipe the dirt away.

Wax the stove: clean your stove and then put car wax on it. The wax will keep the stove shiny and make cleaning up any mess easier (it will just wipe away).

Clean windows on a cloudy day: do you hate cleaning your window and then having them dry with streaks and stains? Clean your windows on a cloud day to avoid this. A sunny day makes your windows dry too quickly, thus leaving streaks.
